About IPRT

The International working group on Polarized Radiative Transfer (IPRT) has been initiated in June 2011. Its objectives include:

  • compare and improve polarized radiative transfer models
  • provide benchmark results
  • develop publically available codes
  • provide information about free codes
  • provide input data (scattering matrices, BPDFs)
  • bring community together (workshops, …)

Results of phase A of the IPRT intercomparison have been published: Emde et al. 2015, JQSRT

Phase B (3D test cases) of intercomparison has been performed. Preliminary results can be found here.
