About IPRT

The International working group on Polarized Radiative Transfer (IPRT) has been initiated in June 2011. Its objectives include:

  • compare and improve polarized radiative transfer models
  • provide benchmark results
  • develop publically available codes
  • provide information about free codes
  • provide input data (scattering matrices, BPDFs)
  • bring community together (workshops, …)

Phase III of the Model Intercomparison Project Has Begun

We are excited to announce the launch of Phase III of the model intercomparison project. This phase focuses on polarized radiative transfer modeling in fully one-dimensional geometry.

A comprehensive set of test cases has been defined and is available here. We encourage you to contribute your model results!

As with previous phases, we will compile and publish benchmark results to support the broader research community.
