libRadtran download page

  • Optical properties for libRadtran, these include files for water cloud (pre-calculated Mie tables), ice clouds (baum, hey, baum_v36), and OPAC aerosols. All optical properties except baum include full phase matrices. Please untar the file in the libRadtran main directory. optprop_v2.1.tar.gz
  • Water cloud optical properties including complete Legendre terms wc_allpmom.sol.mie.cdf
  • Extended Mie Tables for water cloud droplets with effective radii up to 100 micrometers: wc_mie_extended.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory.
  • Optical properties for ice cloud parameterization yang2013. Includes wavelength range from 0.2 to 99 micrometers and full phase matrices for 9 habits and 3 degrees of roughness: ic_yang2013.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory. The first version of the data (ic_yang2013_before_march_2016.tar.gz) included wrong Legendre terms for some habits which caused an error message when the DISORT solver was used.
  • Data for REPTRAN absorption parameterization (new version from 2024 includes MTI-FCI) reptran_2024_all.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory.
  • Data for REPTRAN absorption parameterization reptran_2017_all.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory.

  • Lookup table for dynamic tenstream solver: tenstream_lookup.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory.
  • Hyperspectral surface albedo data HAMSTER: hamster_1140_720.tar.gz, please untar in the libRadtran main directory. This data includes one file per month (1st day of month) at a coarser resolution (0.25° in latitude and longitude) and the corresponding earth model file to be used with mc_netcdf_surface_file.
