| | The [[http://www.dwd.de/ertel-zentrum | HErZ]] Data Assimilation Branch is a university research group funded by the German Weather Service (DWD). It aims to perform fundamental research to advance the DWD data assimilation system and to represent the forecast uncertainty in the ensemble prediction system. Research focus is on convective scale data assimilation and on the use of satellite observations. Furthermore the interplay of analysis and forecast uncertainty in the COSMO-KENDA system is examined with particular focus on flow dependence and impact time of observations. |
