ABSTRACT
Satellite based measurements of ozone total column performed with the
GOME/ERS-2 sensor are compared with the ground-based measurements at
Hohenpeissenberg. GOME data from July 1995 through April 2006 is compared with
Brewer and Dobson measurements. It is shown that GOME and the ground-based
measurements agree at the percentage level. Additionally GOME measurements are
stable over the complete time period what makes GOME well suitable for trend-analysis
and climate studies
